Gretchen, Office Manager
This is the voice most of you will hear when first calling Beavertail. Gretchen comes to us with an extensive business background and is responsible for the management responsibilities in the office.
|

Chuck, Finisher
Chuck is the guy who does the final touches on the build, he is responsible for the final details and finish buffing on all of our skiffs, chuck has been building and finishing boats for over 25 years.
|

Rick, Shop Foreman
Rick is the leader of the fiberglass shop, he is responsible for every facet of the build. His passion for doing the job right is appreciated more than he knows, our skiffs don't come out of the shop until Rick says they're right. Rick started in the fiberglass business the same time as Chuck. With over two decades of glass work experience you can count on Rick to get the job done right.
|

Gary and Jose, Vacuum infusion
Gary and Jose are 100% responsible for the vacuum infusion process on all of our hulls. With over 100 skiffs delivered, we can say that we have not had one structural warranty issue on our hulls. Our track record speaks volumes for the vast knowledge these guys have brought to the team. Gary has built his own sailboats and offshore boats from Europe to the United States , and brings with him over 30 years in the fiberglass business. Jose came on board this year and is Gary 's promising protégé.
|

Howard, Tooling
What can we say about Howard. He has owned his own glass shop for over 40 years and we're glad to say that we have brought him out of retirement to help us build our skiffs. Howard's passion for quality work is evident in everything he does. When he found out what we were doing he just couldn't stand by and watch. Howard is a master with tooling, and has been responsible for every mold we have ever made.
|

Johnny, Lead skiff builder
Here is a guy that couldn't stand working for a big boat company. John just couldn't stand the "that's good enough" and "faster is better" attitude associated with some large corporate boat builders. John has come to us with a vast knowledge of boat building and a relentless work ethic. Johnny takes pride in what he does and it can be seen in every boat he touches. We're grateful for the passion that John brings to every build.
|

Big Ed, Do it all guy
Everybody that has ever been in business needs a guy like Ed. You know, the go to guy that will do anything you ask, and do it well. He's rough and tough and can get the job done when nobody else can. Ed comes to us with 18 years in the fiberglass business.
|

Jason, President Blue Rock
Jason is the guy responsible for all of our custom trailers and towers, if you have seen his work you know why we are so lucky to have him. He is a relentless worker. He has been with Beavertail Mfg from the beginning - 13 years. Jason is the guy that builds all of our custom aluminum boats as well. He is a busy guy to say the least and his attitude is one of the best we have ever seen. We really appreciate Jason's hard work and dedication.
|

Patty, Welding shop manager
Patty is also in the welding shop with Jason, she manages that entire division but still finds time to help out with the incredible busy schedule we keep. If you need a answer and have to get the job done, we go to Patty.
|

Jerry “Hummer”, Mechanic
Jerry comes to us with 15 years of mechanics and welding on his resume. Jerry is our go to mechanical guy in the shop. If it needs to be built, fixed, assembled, tested or wired he can do it. We envy his multitude of talents when it comes to fabrication and mechanics. Plus he likes to fish!! To the right of Jerry is Beavertail founder, Dick Fisher, who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty in the shop.
|

Kevin, Master electrician
If you have ever seen the wiring in one of our skiffs and asked yourself “how did he do that?”, you're not alone. Kevin is our resident master electrician. He is so focused on clean wiring that it's almost to the point of obsessive compulsive behavior. We get a pretty good laugh about it at lunch. We love Kevin's work and if you ever have the pleasure of owning one or our boats or seeing one at a show, you will appreciate his true talent and passion for his work. Kev's the man, and we're very fortunate to have him onboard.
|
Gordy “Tork”, Rigging Foreman
We call him Torque because he came from the high performance race boat industry. Getting Torque to rig a boat is like asking him to take a walk in the park.

He is unbelievably talented when it comes to rigging. There is no motor, binnacle, guage, hydraulic jack plate or steering system that he has not seen or installed at one time or another. He's one of the reasons we have so few calls for warranty work. When Torque does the job we know it's done right. Gordy is also an avid hunter and fisherman that has traveled the world chasing everything from Elk to Blue Marlin.
|

Arlo, Production division
We could write a book about Arlo. He has been with us for over a decade. Whether it was building mud motors in the early years or managing eBay sales at present. Arlo has done it all, but his specialty is camera work, both cinematography and photography.
Arlo started his career in the film business when he was young man in Germany and he has kept his passion for the perfect shot ever since. We always get complements from our clients on our photos on our website and the professional work done on our DVDs. That is Arlo's specialty and we are lucky to have him. He is presently filming the new Beavertail Skiff DVD that will be out in mid winter. We are excited to see what he comes up with next.
|

Danny, Internet Tech/Camera man
Dan is actually Arlo's son and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Danny heads up all the editing on the small videos you see on the web and also the full length DVDs that we produce. Dan has also been with us for years. His web site talent is awesome and he has a big responsibility here. As we sell everything direct to the public he has the daunting task of getting people to understand what we do and how we do it via computer. Danny is in house, which gives us the ability to constantly keep in touch with our clients and potential customers about changes, updates and new products. His creativity is one of our greatest assets.

Jim, VP Skiff Division
A lot of you know Capt. Jim. He's the guy you talk to when you order a skiff or just have a few questions before ordering. He is a true talent in the office. His communications skills are awesome. You could not have a better guy to make a deal with on your new skiff. He is honest , sincere and forthright when it comes to what you need and what you don't.

We hired Jim away from a successful boat dealership in Texas a year ago and he has been a perfect match for this crew. Jim is a great fly fisherman with a true passion for the sport. He spent 15 years as a full time flyfishing guide in Alaska, Texas, the Florda Keys, Montana and Oregon, among other places. He knows fishing and he knows the industry. Jim is an integral part of the design team, and a true asset to us and to every customer he deals with on a daily basis.

Scott, Controller/owner
When you purchase a skiff you will eventually talk to Scott. Not only is he a partner in Beavertail Mfg, he is the controller. Scott and Mark Fisher have been partners in other businesses for over 15 years. In 1997 when the two of them sold their construction company, they purchased two thirds of Beavertail from Dick Fisher. Scott comes from a family of bankers and financiers. He is incredibly intelligent and will take care of the business end of your transaction and see to it that there is a smooth transition of documents from Beavertail to the customer.
|
Dick, Founder
What can you say about Dick. If you ever get him on the phone you may feel that you ran into a buzz saw. He's one of the most straight forward, black and white, and driven individuals you will ever meet. He started this business in his garage on an old farm in Rice, MN in 1994. He used to fabricate long shaft mud motors in his shed in the middle of winter in MN with no heat.

He was relentless in his dream, and when everyone told him he was crazy he just focused on the task at hand and kept pushing forward. We thank him for that tenacity because we wouldn't be where we are today without it. He may be the most avid hunter and fisherman we have ever seen. He is a world class Muskie fisherman and can catch more snook over 36” than anyone we've seen. In the fall he's tough to catch up with. Most of the time you will find him in the Dakotas at the duck camp or in his truck chasing the flight.

Mark, President and CEO
Mark was the catalyst that brought Beavertail into the skiff business. He started out fishing on the ocean with his Grand father at age 11. His grandfather Richard “Bones” Luger ran the boat called the Lazy Bones out of Bahia Mar in FT. Lauderdale.

Mark was setting kites and rigging baits before he could drive a car. His Grandfather lived on the inland coastal waterway and when he wasn't on the big boat helping out with the mate duties he was busting Snook and Tarpon in the rivers. Mark and his family still have a house on the manatee pocket in Stuart , FL.
Mark has traveled by boat, exploring and fishing every island in the Bahamas; from Walkers Cay, Marsh Harbor , Chub Cay, Eleuthera Islands, and Cat Island, to the pinnacles of San Salvador. The Bahamas is where Mark cut his teeth on Bonefish, Giant mutton snapper, King/Cero Mackerel, Cobia, Amberjack, Grouper, Yellowfin, Blackfin and Longfin Tuna, as well as hundreds of Wahoo and scores of Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Dorado and Sailfish.
He has also spent time in Costa Rica and Panama where he has racked up countless numbers of Roosterfish and Pacific sails on fly, along with giant Black Marlin and Yellowfin tuna on conventional tackle. He has spent time fishing on the east coast for the giant Bluefin bite. He has fished the Canyons from Montauk NY to Ocean City MD. He has racked up countless numbers of Stripers on fly, fishing with his long time friend, Capt Pete Casale from Montauk, NY.
Mark has spent many days chasing tarpon in the Bluefish cut in Key West , as well as putting his time in chasing bonefish and permit on the water around Marathon, Islamorada, Key Largo, Flamingo and Biscayne Bay . Mark has landed and recorded hundreds of Snook, giant Jack crevalle, Pompano, Trout and Tarpon from his home base in Stuart near the St. Lucie waterway and Indian River . He has spent many a day poling the flats of the mosquito lagoon catching redfish and trout. Mark has also taken his friend's invites for red fishing in Venice , Delacroix and Mertle Grove areas of Louisiana, where the Redfish catch numbers are nothing short of extraordinary. Mark spends the remainder of his time on the upper Mississippi river fly fishing for trophy Smallmouth.
