Beavertail Skiffs 4th Annual Owners Tournament

The FOURTH Annual Beavertail Skiffs Owners Tournament is coming up soon – after another successful event last year we can’t wait!!

Saturday, October 13th • Ruskin, FL

This event is open to all current owners of any model BT Skiff (including the older MN built hulls) and their guests. Fishing teams will be limited to no more than four anglers per boat. Young children and other adult family members who just want to kick back, relax, and enjoy the resort amenities and join in the fun are welcome!

ALL attending (not just those fishing the tourney) MUST purchase a ticket for the event, as detailed, to ensure catering company has all info required and that the correct BT commemorative t-shirt quantities and sizes are ordered! Capt. Blair Wiggins from Addictive Fishing will be joining us again this year for the event, we will have a casting contest with prizes, plus games for the kids. This is going to be one awesome time had by all we promise!

Location: The Resort & Club at Little Harbor, 611 Destiny Drive, Ruskin, FL 33570. Special Beavertail Skiff family members group rates are being offered for those who wish to stay Friday and/or Saturday night (see Accommodation below for further details/rates).

This event is limited to the first 50 boats that sign up (team captain, fellow anglers & any of their family members) who also wish to attend the after party and join in the fun.

The Schedule:

Friday, 10/12: There will be a Captain’s Meeting under the BT Skiffs tent at the Little Harbor Marina starting at 7:00 PM. This is NOT mandatory but all anglers are encouraged to attend as we’ll be going over all the rules and have a chance to socialize afterward.

Saturday, 10/13: Check-in will begin at 7:00 AM at the BT tent and is MANDATORY for all anglers. Teams will sign in and pick up their official BT measuring tapes. Fishing can begin any time after. Lines out is at 3:00 PM and all teams must check back in at the tent no later than 4:30 PM. The festivities will then begin at 6:00 PM with a tasty BBQ dinner, Silent Charity Auction* & Awards Ceremony.

The Rules: This is a Catch and Release ONLY tournament using spin, fly, or live bait. There will be NO weigh-in. We will be fishing for Snook, Sea Trout and Redfish. Anglers will provide their own digital camera or phone to photograph their scored catches using the BT provided measuring tape.

There will agian be a separate division for fly anglers. An email detailing the tournament guidelines and regulations will be sent to all participating every team captain prior to the event.

Let us all Help: We will be holding a silent auction all day Saturday where anglers and their guests can bid on a variety of donated items from artwork, custom fly boxes, to BT Pro-guided fishing trips. We will also be raffling off several awesome BIG ticket prizes such as fly rods, reels, electronics and awesome boating optional extras! All of the money raised from this auction will be donated directly to St. Jude. Together we can all help this awesome organization go even further in conquering childhood cancer.


Accommodation: To get the special rate, you need to clearly state that you will be attending the Beavertail Skiffs Owners Fishing Tournament and want the group rate. Rooms are on a first-come, first-serve basis & it costs you nothing up front to reserve. Don’t delay, as they fill fast!
