Meet our GuidesCapt. Dylan Murley from Seadrift, TX and Port O’ Connor, TX

I was born and raised in central Texas, where my grandfather helped me create a passion for the outdoors by teaching me to hunt and fish. As I got older, I spent summers chasing redfish and snapper in the small coastal community of Matagorda, Texas with my mother. It wasn’t until I got behind the wheel that I realized all that the Texas coast had to offer. The Lower Laguna Madre, for example, had more than just fishing – wild game and waterfowl flourished along the south Texas coast, a place I would soon call home. This is where I picked up a fly rod and fell in love with the skill of sight-casting to redfish, and I haven’t looked back since. Encouragement from my family and friends pushed me to pursue my sight casting passion to the next level, and this is why I began fulfilling my longtime dream of becoming a full-time fly-fishing guide. The Beavertail Strike was my boat of choice due to our crazy Texas weather conditions. I needed a boat that was going to allow me to pole shallow as well as run shallow here on our flats. The semi tunnel on the Strike allows me to do just that! When the weather conditions pick up, and I need to cross the bay, the big flared bow keeps my clients and I safe and dry.
