My wife, Shauna, and I have owned a Beavertail Mosquito for approximately five months and couldn’t be happier. We’ve fished the skiff in Mosquito Lagoon, Tampa Bay, Charlotte Harbor, and even some fresh water. The Mosquito performs as promised, and then some. With two people, fly fishing gear, a full ice chest, and the added weight of a trolling motor and power pole, the skiff poles in shockingly skinny water. It tracks well and spins on a dime in dead silence. I’ve poled into spots other boats can only look at. Although I haven’t measured the actual on water draft, the Mosquito poles shallower than the fin of my paddleboard.
As far as the ride quality goes, even though Liz and Will said the ride was smooth and dry, we were pleasantly surprised by the just how smooth and dry the ride was once it came time to run open water.
We can’t say enough about the quality of the boat, service, and the whole Beavertail buying experience. We’re so happy to be part of the Beavertail family!
